Knock, Knock!

Legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden was quoted saying,

"When opportunity comes, it's to late to prepare."

I agree with this statement absolutely. Sometimes in life we wait for the right moment, chance to come by to exceed at something or move to the next level we imagine about. As we sit everyday waiting patiently for our opportunity to come, when it comes, it passes us by! That because some of us do not prepare on the daily basis, doing the things necessary to take advantage of that opportunity when it knocks on our door. Luck just don't happen overnight. You have to be ready for it and answer the door after the first knock!

Well, there is another very common saying... that "LUCK is where PREPARATION meets OPPORTUNITY." That's not to say that one has to be prepared for one particular moment to occur - but it behooves one to be at a place in life that they are mentally and emotionally prepared to see an opportunity when it happens, AND they are ready and willing to act upon it. Sometimes that means having a little extra savings available; or not being committed to a contractual agreement; or always having an updated resume; or just being "open" to change...

My major rules are:
"Be true to yourself and what direction you want to live your life and don't be afraid to follow it when the opportunity arises."

"Be SMART - do your research and don't enter anything on a whim (unless it's harmless!)"

"Always try and live your life with a positive outlook - life, your loved ones, and "The Man Above" will take care of the rest."

I wanted to make the comment that most people do not know their true self and most people are afraid to act. Hence, procrastination, leading them to not being ready for the opportunity. I have made it a goal to continue to learn more about myself and conquer my fears daily. Starting with first, awareness, and then practice!
